Blending Care

I am a big advocate for natural pet health, but sometimes blending care, or combining conventional care with natural care, is our only option.

Although the holistic approach is preferable, on occasion it is better to pair alternative care with modern medicine. Alternative care offers natural therapies that succeed in producing results, but that is not to say that holistic care replaces conventional medicine completely.

If your pet is seriously injured or ill, you will find that combining care is more effective. For instance, if your pet needs surgery because of a broken bone, a Bach Flower remedy can be used in conjunction to help calm your pet from shock. Bach Flower remedy is a flower essence that works great to sooth your pet's emotions, such as fear, stress or aggression.

For a prolonged condition, such as arthritis, blending different complementary therapies would be suggested rather than traditional medicine. Acupuncture in combination with exercise and taking glucosamine and chondroitin could solely help to heal. Massage may also be part of the treatment to relieve hip pain.

Veterinarians that practice both holistic and traditional solutions like the compatibility of combining them together. When merging care, you get the most modern medicine combined with proven natural remedies.
