Acupuncture For Pets?
Yes! Acupuncture is for pets, too! Does your pet suffer from a chronic condition, such as arthritis or hip dysplasia? Tired of watching your pet suffer from aches and pains? Medication will just alleviate the pain for awhile, but not cure the root cause. Acupuncture maybe the solution. This holistic healing therapy is a form of Chinese Medicine that indicates your pet withholds an energy force called "qi" (pronounced chee) that travels within the body on paths called meridians. Meridians connect parts of the body together, such as muscles and organs. The points along the meridians are labeled by one or two letters and a number. The letter(s) pertains to the meridian the point is located and stands for the organ that dominates that pathway. The numbers calculate where the point lies on the meridian. For example, HT 7 means the 7th point on the heart meridian. How does it work? Your pet suffers from disease when a pathway is blocked. This technique helps remove that blockage by inserting thin, flexible needles under your pet's skin into their muscle and tissue. The needles hit certain points that stimulate chemicals produced by the brain called endorphins. This chemical has a calming and anesthetic effect on the body. Once the endorphins are discharged, the pain is shut off and blood flow and oxygen rushes to the hurt area. Will the needles hurt my pet? When administered by a licensed acupuncturist properly, it should not be painful for your pet. The needles are so thin and do not inject any chemicals or substance into the body. Typically, animals experience relaxation once needles are inserted, especially since the needles hits exact points that relieve discomfort. What conditions can benefit? - Arthritis
- Hip Dysplasia
- Asthma Symptoms
- Allergies
- Stress
- Depression
- Epilepsy
- Anxiety
What is electroacupuncture? Another form of acupuncture is called electroacupuncture. The same points are used in this form as used in the traditional form with the addition of attaching a device that creates electrical vibrations between pairs of needles. This form may be done if there is little to no response to the traditional form. Benefits include those above plus: - Helps Energy Level
- Body Stimulation

What is aqua-puncture? Aqua-puncture is the injection of liquid vitamins or herbal supplement in certain points. The purpose of aqua-puncture is the application of pressure on the meridian point from the injected liquid. Benefits includes: - Injection of needle is a brief insertion in and then out
- Able to tailor remedy according to the area of discomfort
